A Business Forum: Customer Experts

If you make a product good enough, even though you live in the depths of the forest the public will make a path to your door, says the philosopher. But if you want the public in sufficient numbers, you would better construct a highway. - William Randolph Hearst

One way many enterprising business owners are finding to construct that highway is through the use of an online forum. If you have clients who can create a buzz about your product there is likely to be more interest as other guests find your forum.

Some entrepreneurs have discovered that getting a forum started may be difficult work. In order for there to be dialogue among a growing list of members someone has to start the conversation.

Paid Postings

There are a variety of freelance services on the web that provide writers willing to place informed posts on your forum as a means of priming the pump. This may not be a solution for every forum, but if youd like to give your forum a good kick-start you may want to allocate some funds for the purpose of a series of start-up posts that allow guests to perceive your forum as one with activity and one worth participating in.

Customers buy for their reasons, not yours. - Orvel Ray Wilson

Let the Experts Convene

Everyone is an expert on something. It is possible some of your customers can provide expert assistance to others that use your forum. Many forum boards ultimately find themselves directed by members who simply have a knowledge of your product or service and how best to utilize and pass along that information. This can be valuable because you gain an expert voice at no cost to you while visitors gain insight from someone who has had experience in the use of your product.

Many of these same individuals may be interested in assuming a moderators position for the forum. They will likely do this without pay and will work to keep it on track if for no other reason than they have discovered an online community they want to see continue.

Trends, like horses, are easier to ride in the direction they are going. - John Naisbitt

The trend in online marketing is likely to change over time given the rapid advances in technology, however the use of forum boards and other marketing tools that are proving themselves should be something you consider and implement whenever possible.

Power or Fatigue for More Muscle Mass?

One major concept that everyone seems to be confusing now-a-days is muscle fatigue versus muscle power, in search for techniques that will allow you to build and gain muscle weight.

When your main goal is to gain as much muscle weight as possible, you have to know exactly which of the two "factors" you are training for, either to "fatigue" the muscle, closely related to "pumping" and "burning" it, or to use "power", meaning lifting as much weight as possible, regardless of getting a pump or not.

There is a major difference between taking a set to failure (which you should be doing on your "real sets") because of fatigue, or reaching failure because of having no more strength, or power, in the muscle to continue to lift the weight.

I'm sure you have experienced doing a high-rep set and quitting because the pain and burning ("fatigue") just got too much to support.

However, deep down inside you knew that you still had enough strength to actually complete another 2 or 3 reps.

On the other hand, I'm sure you've also done sets that no matter how much effort you put into it, no matter if every vein in your body was popping out because of the strain, you just could not complete one more rep because you simply had no more strength left.

If it's fatigue that causes you to stop a set, all you are going to be building is muscle endurance.

That's fine and dandy if you're training to climb mountains or chop logs for 8 hours straight.

All fatiguing a muscle does is fill it with stale blood, without any oxygen, and forms lactic acid and other waste products.all of which do nothing for building muscle mass and gaining weight!

But if you want to build and gain muscle mass, what should stop you from continuing a set is that you have no more stength / power in the muscle.

That will build strength, and as a result, forces more fibers to come into play, to work, and is what will cause overload in the muscle............all factors that lead to bigger and stronger muscles.

Period.

You can go on ahead and get all the pump and burn you want, but if it's big muscles you're after, you need to train for stronger muscles.

To illustrate: you can do 100 push ups and get a real good pump and burn, fatiguing the muscle in the chest.

But what do you think is going to give you a bigger chest......100 push ups, or lifting 315 pounds for 13 reps??

Remember, if you want to gain muscle weight, train for power, not fatigue.

Law Firm Internet Marketing An Executive Summary Using The Q&A Format Part III

Shouldnt the vendor I select for law firm Internet marketing have built lawyer websites before?

No. In fact some of these types of vendors that tell you how dozens, hundreds or thousands of lawyers have bought websites from them are probably the most expensive options in the marketplace for law firm Internet marketing with not nearly as much value delivered compared to what you can get from other vendors at a lower price. Remember that some of those high end vendors have high end overhead, stockholders, and come complete with sales reps that come to visit you in person even. That is all heavy overhead to bring to the law firm Internet marketing process. I have also found they want to sell you marketing packages (or tell you that you also need a blog with your website) that are pricy which usually include marketing on their heavily trafficked sites where they will list you with a group of your close competitors for the visitor to select from. I dont know about you, however, I want my prospective clients to come directly to me from the search engine. I want them to fall in love with me and not look at my competitors and hope they pick me out of the group on these sites. So I will spend my money getting the folks directly to my CTPM site thank you. Also remember the competition on the Internet is all about keywords and has little to nothing to do with if you are doctors, lawyers, plumbers, or roofers. Keywords are keywords, content is content and all of the other issues I wrote about are the same in Internet marketing in general as well as law firm Internet marketing in particular. I am more interested in if they know what I know as an educated consumer and how their own site ranks in Google Page Rank, how the sites they built look via Google Page Rank as well as how they look with Alexa before I spend my money. Having said all of the above if you think you need a vendor who has done a lot of lawyer sites I have found a vendor that is probably at the higher end of the price range that has done a lot of lawyer sites and has done them pretty well to very well in my opinion. This company is not of the types I spoke about at the very beginning which are parts of major corporations with stockholders and sales reps etc. It is http://ConsultWebs.com Inc. at http://www.consultwebs.com. If you use them do be sure once you negotiate your purchase from them that you ask them for a discount since I noticed they do give referral fees.

You keep talking about the number of pages on the site with respect to law firm Internet marketing. Why is that important?

One of the reasons I tell you that you need at least 20 keywords to write content to is because it is believed search engines consider 20 to 80 pages or so to be a medium size site. One of the more major factors search engines use to determine page ranking is the total number of pages on the site. Most attorneys have small sites (less then 20 pages). You will be out in front of the pack with law firm Internet marketing if you have a medium size site. Lastly, you want to have as part of your ongoing marketing plan of your site to add on average one new page per month to your site. Why? Because over time you would be adding 12 pages per year which will push you up the rankings each month and one day you will have a large size site which will make you virtually unassailable you your competitors. Finally, if you have selected your domain names correctly you will have a salable asset worth a large amount of money since it will be a mighty law firm Internet marketing machine for you by then.

Whoooo. You just said, selected you domain name correctly. Is YourLawFirmsNameLaw.com a good domain name for law firm Internet marketing?

Sorry to say no. Most lawyers have poor domain names on several counts for law firm Internet marketing purposes. Your domain name does affect your page ranking. First the name does not include one of your main keywords, which is the ideal or at least the domain name describes what you do. Second, using the name of the firm is often not a salable brand. Third it does not fit the psychographics of most prospective clients. Fourth often it is not easily memorable and often difficult to spell if you can remember the name. In fact, some attorneys dont even own the domain name they do have since the vendor registered it they may own it. Lastly, some firms will need more than one website since you may need to have a website for each of your top two or three practice areas.

Is there anything else of an intellectual property nature I need to be aware of in this law firm Internet marketing process?

Yes. First be sure that you indeed own the copyright to the entire website including the code, graphics, text and photographs that created the website. It is all yours. If not then I would not go with that vendor. Also be sure the vendor warrants that it owns or has all permissions to use any copyrighted material that they use in building the website. Also if the vendor is hosting your website be sure they have in place in the agreement what they are to do should the hosting equipment go down (like transfer your site to another server) and what are the remedies for interruption of service for more than short periods of time (short meaning hours at the most). Frequent loss of service should enable you to leave that service with no penalties. Some of the attorneys I have coached have said they had to buy their own website again when they wanted to move. A no fun situation so dont let that happen to you.

OK, we have completed part three of law firm Internet marketing and we are on to part four that will complete the series. In part four we will cover what your marketing budget might look like for your law firm Internet marketing, what you need to know about blogs and blawgs, pay per click, where to learn more should you want to dig deeper than this executive briefing and more so read on to part four.

The Family/Career Question

Today time is probably the biggest commodity in many cases more precious than money. If you think about it there is always a way to make more money if you are willing to do whatever it takes. Once time is goneyou can't get it back. There isn't a way to make more of it or stretch it out to be longer. The only thing anyone can do is manage it and maximize it. Based on that, why would anyone want to waste it? Sounds like a strange question right? At this point you're probably saying to yourself "no one wants to waste time" and I would agree with you. How come then do so many people do it? Every single day!!! Time is wasted in so many ways but the biggest seems to be based on a job when compared to family life. Did you know that the nasty morning commute eats up 1 to 2 hours a day usually... and much more for many. That can be as much as 3 weeks a year when added up! Take a 40 year career and that's 120 weeks or more than 2 years of wasted time!!! 2 YEARS!!! What would you do to keep that time? Anything? Most people would probably say yes to that. There is a way to keep more of it than you think today. Droves of American's are leaving the corporate sector to either work from home, or have their own home businesses. It's allowing them to gain some of those lost 2 years back.

If you choose to simply work at home, meaning have a job but do it at home; there are good and not so good things to consider

Here's the good A regular paycheck if that's what's important to you. Ability to plan your life around your work to an extent. No up front investment you'll still be an employee. .

Here's the not so good Answering to a boss for your schedule. Needing a boss' approval to advance. Someone else still decides how much your time and efforts are worth. No build up of residual income.

Certainly if you choose to step out of the employee sector and into the home business owner sector there are a all kinds of advantages available to you. Again however; along with the good also comes the not so good.

Here is what a home based business can offer

The good You're the boss. Run your business your way and not someone else's. You create your own schedule and decide how much and when you work. You answer to your self, not a boss. You decide how much your time and efforts are worth vs. a boss. Potential build up of residual income if you choose the right business.

The not so good (or challenges) There is an investment and working capital needed for any legitimate venture. There is no immediate gratification. You need to build your business and momentum before reaping the rewards.

With all that being said, the good far outweighs the bad. There are certainly ways to plan so that starting your business doesn't break your bank. Keep your job and start it part time or simply save up the capital needed and then make the switch.

Let's talk about the good for a second imagine having the time to travel when you want? How about never missing your child's sports competition again? Or being available to attend all school events and never missing a birthday party celebration? What about your personal time remember that? What would it be like to have a little of your own time more than once a year!?

Whatever your choose; feel good about your decision to take the necessary steps in discovering the fantastic potential and flexibility to work at home. Having a job or a business is up to you but; imagine the impact that your new found time freedom will really have on your family life? Let's face it; time is limited and if the opportunity is there to maximize yours, why wouldn't you take it?

How Spammers Obtain Your Email Address And Why They Send Spam

You probably know that Spam is unsolicited and undesired e-mail message. Spammers are the people who send Spam. Spam is a serious problem. It is important today as never before because almost every other email message we receive is Spam. So, the question arises how spammers get your email address and why they send you Spam. Spammers can obtain your email address in three ways.

One way is to guess a mailbox name for a publicly listed domain name. Many organizations have the email addresses where the first part of the email address is a general word such as info, sales, accounts, support, etc. People often use the email addresses beginning with their first name, for example, John, Sandra, Julia. Spammers simply put the first names before the @ symbol followed by a domain name, and get possible email addresses.

Secondly, spammers can gather email addresses from the Internet. They use programs that search web pages looking for email addresses. If there is your contact email address in your web site, or if the email address is embedded into your profile, your email address will be obtained by spammers.

The third way to get your email address is to buy email lists. Some dishonest companies can make money by selling the customers information to spammers. Spammers can also bribe unscrupulous employees of companies to get a copy of the email list.

Once spammers got a list of the victims email addresses, they start spamming. They do it to make money. In general, there are two kinds of spam messages:

1.Offering trashy and fraudulent goods or services (e.g. Viagra, Cialis, medications, fake Rolexes, software programs, etc.)

2.Stock scams working on Pump and dump schemes. Spammers encourage you to invest in a particular company's stock, in order to quickly inflate its value and enable the spammers to make a fast profit.

By sending their undesired messages spammers have for an object to contact thousands or even millions people in the hope to hit one or a few dolts who actually will buy their crappy products. No dolts, no spam. But out of a million people, you will always find one or two.

Most of the Internet protocols that computers use to talk to each other are anonymous. Your email server thinks that any email server connecting to it over the Internet is giving its name properly and that the email it sends is legitimate. Spammers abuse this trust relationship to send you their garbage. The Internet protocols cannot be changed in a moment so we need another solution to the problem of spam.

Legislative attempts produced no effect. Its not easy to track a spammer located in USA sending spam using a mail server from Russia to mailboxes in Australia. Spammers are also known to use Trojans to hijack ones computer and make that person send spam on behalf of the spammer. The victim doesnt even guess about it. These people would be caught up in any comprehensive Spam legislation.

However that may be you can take some measures to protect your inbox against spam flow by yourself. There is a wide choice of anti-spam products available on the Internet. You only have to choose the right one to block Spam before it reaches your inbox. There is no guarantee that you will get absolutely no Spam but at least you will reduce its amount.

Tip No. 1 to Escape the Rat Race: Start a Home Business

Nine out of ten employees have had thoughts of entrepreneurship at one time or another, whether they admit it or not. No matter how great the job and how great the pay, sometimes the pressures of a 9 to 5 job can get to you. Sometimes the idea of being in control, of making decisions solo, of working for as little and as long as you like sends surges of excitement throughout your brain and leads you to daydreaming and brainstorming by your lonesome.

Its not impossible. Some of the biggest companies and the most successful businesses we now know and respect began life as home businesses. Dont believe me? Check out Banana Republics roots.

If youre seriously falling out of love with your job, finding less and less joy in working and the thought of looking for another employer freezes you from head to toe, then maybe those dreams of entrepreneurship might just work for you. If you earnestly believe this is your path, then here are a few tips to keep your fires burning.

Got the dream? Make it work.

You are only a king in your dreams. When you wake up, there wont be a throne waiting to catch you when you fall. While dreaming is an excellent way of generating ideas, it really will earn you zero dollars if you dont see if they actually work. Visualizing yourself enjoying the fruits of your home business may prepare your mind for future achievement, but in the end it is your hands that will determine whether your dream will work or not.

Have a plan

Plans are the blueprint of your dreams, the closest you will get to touching them at this point in time. Dont be afraid of lists and make one detailing your personal characteristics, abilities and weaknesses. Break down your dreams into smaller bits and match your abilities with those units. This will let you see what you lack in terms of preparation and resources.

List down as many sources of information and supplies as you can and try to get what you need day after day. You may be approaching your dream home business in small increments, but this means youre moving forward. And moving forward means progress.

Use what you know

The old adage, work with what you love and the money will follow is only true if you go in with enough skills and knowledge about your service or product. The entrepreneurs who actually became success stories while claiming zero to little knowledge of the business are more the exception than the rule.

Accept what you can and cannot do and concentrate on tasks that can make effective use of your abilities. As for aspects you know little or nothing about, get help.

Seek an alternative

Sometimes you just really want to test the waters, so to speak. Its not really the fear and apprehension, but its more likely that you have no idea what the risks will be until you actually expose yourself. If you dont want to take a full dive, then go part-time.

Getting a feel of the business part-time will allow you to experience its operations without too much risk while giving yourself the opportunity to push your business using a hands-on approach. Plus, theres less apprehension factor since you have the assurance of your full time job.

Learn from the masters

If possible, get someone to teach you the ropes. Even the best sources from books, magazines, the internet and graduate schools will not be enough to help you survive the shaky initial stages of building your home business. Learn from someone whos been there, do your research, ask questions.

Seeing green

The prospect of earning unlimited income is probably one of the most attractive possibilities in setting up a home business. After all, you will be your own boss. Every single cent you earn from your little venture will go to no one elses pocket but yours. But when it comes to earnings, its worth knowing that you need money to make money.

It is also important that you keep your expectations to a realistic minimum.

To the brave belongs the prize.

Youll never know what youll get until you do it. Possibilities can only be turned into opportunities if youre willing to have a go at it. Luck and feng shui may calm your jitters, but they wont do much for you if you just sit around biting your nails. If you want it hard enough, then make it come true. Your dream home business can only materialize if you and no one else, make it so.

Finding The Right Math Tutor For Your Teen

Your teen is struggling in math class and you have decided that a tutor might help. How do you go about finding a good one? You want someone who relates well to your student, is knowledgeable, and is able to communicate effectively.

One possibility, and perhaps the most economical, would be a peer tutor. Someone in the same class who is doing well or someone who did well in the course a year or two earlier might be interested in doing one-on-one tutoring. If you choose to go this route, you might ask the teacher for names of capable students.

The high school counselors office is another good place to investigate possibilities. Many times they keep a list of available tutors in different subject areas. And if they dont have a list, many times they will lend assistance in trying to locate a suitable tutor.

A certified teacher or retired teacher can be an excellent choice for private tutoring. Many schools have rules that prohibit a classroom teacher from tutoring his/her own students for compensation, but another teacher in the school or a teacher in another district might be available. Many teachers welcome tutoring jobs as a means of supplementing their income. However, you should expect to pay more for a certified or more experienced person.

If your community has a local college, consider hiring a college student as a tutor. When I was teaching I often referred parents to the chairman of the math department of our nearby college. He always had a list of students that were interested in tutoring high school math students.

Talk to other parents of high school students. Word of mouth can be a wonderful source of information when seeking out the right tutor. That parent sitting next to you at the soccer game might just have found a gem of a tutor who is looking for more students.

You might also consider running an ad in your local newspaper to find a tutor. Of course you want to be sure to carefully screen applicants and ask for references.

Lastly, your teen might be a good candidate for on-line tutoring services. There are a multitude of those services available today and they are growing in popularity.

A word of caution about choosing a tutor for your teenteenagers are such individuals. What works for one student might not work for another at all. Some relate better to a peer tutor, while another might be more comfortable with a college student. Be sure that your teenager is an integral part of the process of finding just the right math tutor. This will help insure that you (and your student) reap maximum benefits from the tutoring experience.

Paid Search Campaigns: What Makes The Heavy Lifting So Heavy?

IT IS A CRITICAL COMPONENT of the day-to-day tasks that occur behind the scenes of any paid search marketing campaign. It's commonly experienced by those on the frontlines. It is a necessary evil. It is something that does not need to be so complex and cumbersome--but often is.

Simply put, it is customer service. But in this case it is the engine's service of its customer--the agency.

It's only keywords and textlinks

On the surface, our clients are presented with only the end product--neat, detailed, executive-level campaign summaries and charts that indicate efficient search marketing performance tied with strategic recommendations. Often these summaries validate the need for an ongoing search marketing presence. Clients also understand such top-level tactics as expanded keyword lists and lowered bids for non-performing terms.

What remains hidden is the time-consuming back and forth with each engine in order to ensure a perfect launch or retrieve ongoing campaign updates. As much as we try to streamline our interactions with the engines, there will always be a need for constant conversations and confirmations. If you haven't already today, please go thank your campaign managers for what they frequently have to endure.

As mentioned by Gord Hotchkiss in a previous "Search Insider" article, those not connected to our industry tend to simplify what we do as nothing more than "typ[ing] phrases to drive ad traffic." If only it were that simple.

The customer (agency) is always right...sometimes

Each engine has its own methodologies, terms and conditions, processes and policies. During the course of a paid search marketing campaign, you may very well experience one or some of the following issues that contribute to the "heavy lifting," such as:

Regardless of client pedigree and potential, you're required to invest a monthly minimum spend threshold. Last time I checked, there was more than one engine in the marketplace.

The text creative that you initially submitted, following several stakeholders' approval, has mysteriously been altered based on what the engine "felt would perform better."

When they were asked for explanations on what the effect of certain engine guidelines (such as cosmetic changes in the way a result would be listed) would mean for existing campaigns, engine staffers simply stated that they "don't know" and they "were not privy to that information from upper management." How can we set our client expectations when the engines themselves are unable to provide guidance?

Without prior notification, your set daily spend caps are exceeded above a normal percentage. The engine claims there was an unforeseen "system error," and kindly apologizes for burning through a large percent of your monthly budget.

Somehow another advertiser is securing sponsored listings against your client's brand name. You're aware of the engine's policy and have taken action, yet the advertiser's listings links to a page that is not compliant with the engine's existing list of guidelines. Poor result relevancy is more important than trademark infringement?

Depending on your client's business, setting up a new campaign requires coordination with several engine representatives that in some way serve the same purpose or do not effectively communicate. Remember the days of ONE engine representative handling ALL of your paid search campaigns, regardless of vertical?

While these issues have not affected our client's campaign performances, because experience allows all of us to set realistic turnaround times and expectations, they have cost us all additional hours in dealing with the engines behind the scenes. Maybe no one side is to blame. Maybe these are just outcomes of our industry's tremendous growth spurt in the past few years. Is there a fix?

Industry standards?

While all engines do their best to fix any unforeseen system glitches, editorial oversights or overall lapses in customer service, one question still remains--can standardization minimize pain points and improve engine-to-agency customer service?

Are these issues isolated incidents, or industry-wide? At a recent conference, this was a recurring topic of discussion among a few SEM enthusiasts. Feedback among the group was mixed. There was no unanimous engine winner or loser. For every account of an engine that did something great, there was a horror story worse than any in the aforementioned list.

Thankfully, it appears that the engines are heading in a direction of standardizing some of their offerings, including text creative character limitations, soon-to-be-special algorithms for determining a sponsored ad's rank, and dayparting capabilities. This will at least allow for a common level of expectations around process and procedures. How long before standardized back-end financial systems, electronic insertion orders, trademark policies and agency relationship models follow?

Will things get worse before they get better?

We're in this together

Every day brings another announcement about an engine's new technology, acquisition or ad management component. So, nothing indicates that our jobs will get easier. I'm sure we can all say that the various engines' customer service has improved over the past few years, but it is not ideal. Agencies will continue to offer solutions on how this can be improved. Engines will continue to make minor improvements here and there. Our industry will continue to evolve.

At the end of the day, our interests should be aligned with delivering value to our clients and making the heavy lifting a little lighter.

Site5 Web Hosting Review

I have been hosting some of my websites with Site5 for about a year now. I also have other websites hosted in other web hosting companies. Here is my review for site5 based on my own personal experience with them

Why I choose Site5

I got to know about Site5 through the webhostingtalk forums. At that time, I was searching for a reliable and reputable cheap web hosting company for a couple of my new websites. And Ive heard a lot of good reviews about Site5 and so decide to try them out. Since they have a 60 day money back refund, I figure if I did not like it, I would ask for my money back. Anyway, I was basically testing their web hosting on my new websites so I was not terribly affected.

Site5 Hosting Plan

Site5 only offer two types of hosting plan : shared and reseller. So I took the superhosting extreme package. Basically heres the brief web hosting package details :

Diskspace : 8GB
Bandwidth : 500GB
Multisite Accounts : 5
Unlimited : domain pointers, ftp, mysql

It also comes with fantastico, cpanel. All this for about $109 annually which is pretty cheap. Please note this hosting plan is no longer available and is replaced with multisite dynamite plan. It is basically the same as my previous plan except for more diskspace and bandwidth. As Im writing this, they have a promotion where you can get this hosting plan for 2 years at only $149 which I consider to be a good deal.

Unique Features of Site5 hosting

One feature I like about site5 hosting is the multisite accounts. It is basically a full featured control panel for each domain. Unlike other shared web hosting companies which uses domain pointers, a multisite accounts exists on its own with its own subdomains, domain pointer, ftp, mysql etc. This help me to organize my websites better especially if you have a lot of domains. You can set the diskspace and bandwidth from the main pool of your web hosting account.

The other feature is the flashback which allows you to undo any changes you make to your website. It is a life saver especially when a website breaks down and you do not know the cause.

Things that can be improved

Though I like Site5 and would recommend it to friends, there are a few things that could make it better. One of them is the upgrade option. I recently upgraded my hosting plan to multisite dynamite and was told I had to shift to another server. The problem was I had to do the data transfer myself. With 3GB of data to transfer, not to mention the dozens of ftp, mysql and email accounts, it was a real hassle. Something I am sure their staff could have easily completed in a short time.

The other thing I didnt like was I could not request for more IP addresses. If you know about SEO, then you know how having multiple IP addresses can be useful.

In all, I would still recommend site5 due to its cheap web hosting plan, good support and high availability.

Website Building Mistakes You Should Avoid

If you happen to have a website (or plan to build one shortly) this is a must-read. A website should offer customers with useful information that can actually help find solutions to their problems. When I used to search for home businesses, I got sick and tired of poorly designed websites shoving awful products and countless links down my throat; there was no explaining on their behalf and no advice given all I saw was an order now button. A website should offer customers value and convenience because that is what they are looking for.

So you must keep in mind that you are designing a website to help people; not to deprive them of their time and hard earned cash. Many people make the mistake of not having high quality content on their siteand instead they litter their site with links and clunky banners.

Bottom line quality information comes before all.

Questionable Navigation

Too many sites have dismal navigation setups. This is a huge mistake. Never make the error of having poor navigation on your site that would even make Sherlock Holmes scratch his head. It makes it confusing and hard to surf through (most likely forcing the visitor to leave). Just take a look at my website; it may not have fancy graphics or a slew of irrelevant pictures, but it gives you what you need: valuable information presented with a simple setup. Simplicity ultimately allows visitors to easily find what they are looking for.

I was once (and still am) a customer, so I know what it feels like arriving on a website flooded with link after link you just dont know where to click next. You feel paralyzed and never find what youre searching for.

Unnecessary graphics

You should also try to avoid using graphics unless they are absolutely necessary. Fewer graphics soak up less bandwidth, allowing for faster load times. So unless you absolutely need it, dont place too much graphics on your page. While heavy pages may not be a problem for those who have broadband, you cant assume everyone has broadband services--some still have high-speed dial up, and for them it is a pain.

Make them come back for more

Give the customer a reason to come back to your site. You must make every reader of your website remember your sites uniqueness. Show your personality and make it a great experience for them. Avoid the mistake of coming across as being too formal and boring.

Other common mistakes Web designers make that should be avoided

Its important for you not to spamthis can get you banned from the search engines. You should also keep good records and remain well organized. Always make sure your income (i.e. affiliate commissions, reseller sales, Google Adsense) exceeds expenses (Internet bills, pay-per-clicks, the cost of the computer you own, products you buy to grow your business, web hosting, domain name, etc.).

Never lie to your readers: honesty is the only option.

What To Do When Writing An E-Book

Writing an e-book is a popular means of expression these days. People do it for a number of reasons for the love of writing, in order to express an opinion, to spread awareness or simply to make money! But regardless of the objectives for doing so, writing an e-book requires careful planning and preparation.

Lets see how ready you are.

1. Examine your reasons.

First and foremost, understand your motives for wanting to write one. Is it out of passion or to establish your position? Are you looking to earn recognition or revenue?

A book about your support for conservation of rain forests will read very differently from an instruction manual for building your own furniture. Once youve written the e-book, the way to publicize it will also depend on the intended outcome. Make your choice upfront.

2. Choose the subject.

If youre Michael Schumacher, well then thats easy! But for the rest of us, identifying the subject of an e-book is not necessarily a done deal. For a professional in the world of finance, the choice could be as diverse as writing about the best investment options to creating a primer on terms used in accounting.

While deciding a subject, base your choice on your level of expertise, the need for such information and the proliferation of other written matter on the same topic. Its always a better idea to cater to the unmet needs of a niche audience than to compete for attention in a mass market.

3. Identify your audience.

Continuing from the last point, it is very important to pinpoint the target reader of your e-book, right from the get-go. The way you write and promote the book will most certainly depend on who is going to read it.

4. Create a format

A books a book, so its got to have a structure. However, there are additional possibilities with e-books that you might not find in traditional print paperbacks. Here are some of them:

DIY A how to or ten tips for format works brilliantly for e-books. Tell it with minimum fuss, but make sure the information is complete and usable. Works well with almost any subject.

FAQ this makes quick and easy reading. Put yourself in the readers shoes and ask all the questions they would. Answer them. Period.

Bulleted or Numbered Lists reading off a monitor is not as easy as reading off a page. So while writing an e-book, remember to make it easier for the audience. Lists help the viewer pick up key points easily.

Apart from the structure, you also need to decide what software to use to publish your e-book but you could just as easily use more than one. HTML, Adobe or Exe files take your pick. Thats the whole point of going online.

5. Identify the channel

We spoke about this before, remember?

A lot depends on where your core readership comes from. You have control over how your e-book is circulated, so you could choose to put it exclusively on your website, retail it through others or make it available through a select list of partner sites. Experience the joy of not having to deal with a hard nosed publisher!

Writing an e-book can be a way to fame and fortune, but its also a big source of fun. Whatever be your other objectives, make sure the latter is included.

Using Your Web Stats To Sell

After you have a website for a while, you start to learn a lot of tips and tricks for doing business on the web. One of the best marketing tools you have is right there on your server and you'd be amazed at how many people don't use it. That tool is your website statistics. If you've never examined your web stats before you're missing out on a real gold mine of information. They are usually found in the control panel section of your web hosting company. Most web hosts will email them to you if you can't access them yourself.

Learn Important Pages Viewed Information

You are most likely familiar with your "hits" on your web stats for finding out how many people have visited your website. Most stats programs will not only tell you how many visitors you have had to your site, but what pages on your website they visited, how long they stayed on a particular page and what page they last viewed on your website before they surfed on.

Valuable Keywords and SEO

If you're interested in search engine optimization for your website and you aren't sure what keywords to use for your site; there is usually a section in your web stats file that shows you what keywords a person entered to find your site and what search engine they used. You can put those keywords around your website on various relevant pages to increase the search engine optimization of your site. That won't catapult your website to the number one position on Google overnight but it will increase your rankings if done correctly.

The Magic of Referrers

Another great feature is the referrer section. Know what sites or search engines are referring your website visitors. Referrals can come from other websites, news groups, clubs and forums or even competitors - if people are being referred to your website, find out by who. In many cases, someone that had a great experience with your firm will be referring your company to someone on a message board that is looking for a similar product or service.

Use Your Web Stats

If you notice people are leaving within a few seconds of hitting your index page. Look at it in a few different browsers because they are not all created equally. What loads like a champ in Internet Explorer may look like garbage in Firefox or Opera browsers; or it simply may take too long to load. If you notice people are leaving at a point in your shopping cart - either your shipping is too high or your program may be faulty. Find out what items are getting the most looks and promote those to bring in more visitors.

Now that you know how your web stats can work for you, jump start your Internet business today.

Diesel and Gasoline Engines

There has been a lot of debate concerning the environmental safety of the diesel engine versus the gasoline engine. In the past the diesel engine was a large polluter and was deemed to be very noisy and unreliable. This was one of the major downfalls of this engine design.

Today however it is seen that this is no longer the case. While the diesel engine continues to be more of a polluter than the gasoline engine in some aspects it is not as bad as before and in fact beats the gasoline engine on some fronts. The diesel engine has been greatly improved in terms of its efficiency and has reduced the oil consumption.

Due to the lowered per mile fuel consumption of the diesel engine it can be seen that the diesel engine releases less carbon dioxide than the gasoline engine. This is a vital point as the gas carbon dioxide is a great contributor to global warming. It is however seen that in terms of particulate pollution diesel engines are larger culprits when compared to the gasoline engine. They are also producers of smog forming pollutants.

These particulates are largely classes as soot particles and this falls into three major classes. These are particulate matter that is greater than 10 microns, particulate matter that is smaller than 10 microns or 10 microns and particulate matter that is 2.5 microns or smaller. It is a fact that these sizes can be related to the particular effects of these particles on humans.

The particulate matter that is greater than 10 microns is not as dangerous as it is ejected from the body by sneezing, coughing and nose blowing. Smaller particles settle in the windpipe and cause irritation and the particulate matter that is 2.5 microns is seen to settle in the lungs and cause serious irritation, mutation of tissues and many serious medical problems such as asthma and cancer. This therefore makes the issue of diesel pollution a serious and deadly one.

This means there will be more serious and tougher emission rules for the diesel engine to adhere too and the need for high tech diesel engines that use fuel that is low in sulfur. The benefits of this fuel may in fact however not be worth it as the production of the fuel will generate more pollutants.

There is however still a future for diesel as it will indeed have a role to play in the overall reduction of the production of greenhouse gases as well as oil consumption. The diesel engine will continue to be advanced but whether it will catch up to the technologies employed in the gasoline engines is a question that remains. The gasoline engine technologies in use have been ahead of the diesel engine in terms of air pollution and continue to remain ahead.

If the diesel engine can offer the same efficiency of the gasoline engine in terms of pollutants then it will be the engine of choice without any dispute. Until that time it continues to trail the gasoline engine even though it has better fuel efficiency.

The Easy Way to Find Cheap Books

Do you enjoy reading? I just love reading and thus I am very happy that I could find many cheap books on the Internet. This is how I can enjoy my favorite hobby without having to pay a lot of cash. There are hundreds of book stores and dealers online which offer cheap books on every subject. I am fond of fiction, so I personally search the best deals on the latest fiction titles. However, it is also easy to find many books which are not expensive in non-fiction, fantasy, science fiction, horror and mystery.

There are million reasons why you should not buy full price books if you are able to find them cheaper. If you love reading, then think of how much money you could save by buying cheaper books. Imagine you buy two new books a month. Each of them costs about $10, so you spend $240 a year on books. This isn't too much unless you think of all the other things you could have bought with this amount of money. This is why you should consider buying cheap books instead of paying retail. The money you will save could be used to buy your children nicer Christmas presents or for example, reward yourself with a day at the spa. Or you can get that great new tool from the hardware store. Buying cheap books helps you to get the other things you want in your life and still keep reading.

I remember that as a student I hated buying books at the bookstore. One reason for that was that I had to buy all the books from a list and spend hours in the bookstore trying to find them. Apart from that I often had to buy books for "easy" courses like arts course I wasn't much interested in. Then, when it comes to paying all those books on your list you realize you cannot afford it. What is really good nowadays is that cheap books often include textbooks. You should not buy textbooks full price if you can find them cheaper because after all you are going to use them only for a short period of time. If you buy cheap books for school you will have enough money for all those little luxuries that students cannot afford all the time, this might be lunch, decent coffee or a night out in the town.

Single people, parents, young adults, students and seniors can all enjoy cheap books. Everyone needs to save some money and if they manage to do so they can spend it on a few things they want. Consequently, don't hesitate and start buying cheap books now, this is the way to indulge in your favourite hobby but save some money for the other things you want in your life.

6-Figure Internet Work At Home Moms On The Rise

Can a work at home mom make a greater income than when she was working? The answer might surprise you.

One mom started her internet home business while she still held down a banking job. Then, when she started receiving regular $3,000 lump sums from her home business, it was time to head for the friendly confines of her home and family.

These payments started out slowly at first, then grew until she made $15,000 in one month, $21,000 in the next and suddenly, she was faced with the prospect of not only having a thriving home based business, but complete financial freedom!

Her story is not unique. In exchange for around $3,995, you receive the rights to market a very powerful home business product, and the internet storefront necessary to sell it.

Once a storefront is set up for you, your only responsibility is generating traffic to it. The ways of doing this run the gamut from referring friends to your website, putting classified ads in the paper, or dropping off flyers, to running a small Google advertising campaign or taking advantage of powerful leads generating software you can manage from home.

And heres the best part of this home business model. After your first qualifying lead, you get the first sale of everyone who comes in under you. Thats when your income starts to skyrocket.

Dont confuse this business model with MLM or so-called pyramid schemes. Youre selling a legitimate home business product and a full blown marketing mechanism, including slick videos, audio testimonialsthe works.

Think these businesses will take up too much of a moms time? Think again. A prospect who visits your home business site and fills in a brief form gets a call from a team leader, not the mom, who may be off quietly rocking her child to sleep.

Her time away from the home business goes unnoticed. She knows about each and every call back request and sale by receiving an email or phone confirmation or by visiting the back office of her website. With the rise of internet marketing, work at home moms never had it so good!

Creating Wealth in a Home Based Business

Reasons Why to Work Out of the Home

The benefits of home business are many; more family time, freedom of time, no commute and endless opportunities to take charge of your destination. Once you make the decision to move from a traditional work setting to operate a home based business, such as network marketing, you need to improve or guarantee the likelihood that you will succeed. Success, in anything requires focus, this means learning, studying and practicing proven ways in order to make the success of your business a predictable outcome. There are ways to ensure your success, read on to learn how.

Network Marketing is Booming

The employment landscape in the United States is changing. Gone are the retirement and pension plans. Gone is the paradigm of job security. Did you know that companies everywhere are downsizing? They are either going virtual or moving work offshore, eliminating jobs in all industries. Despite this trend in employment conditions and change in workforce paradigm, the annual income for Americans has increased from $13 trillion in 1991 to $40 trillion in 2001. Many experts attribute this growth due to the increase in home based business, primarily network marketing. In home based business and network marketing, the opportunities come with many benefits. Many people are moving into home based businesses, either to supplement income, allow for more time at home with family or to create a new career. Often times these ventures do not require specialized degrees or skills, anyone can learn how to do network marketing, and these businesses are opportunities for those from all walks of life. Anyone can take advantage of these opportunities. One of the biggest advantages of home based business is the fact that one can create multiple streams of income and thus the earning potential can become limitless. In traditional work settings, where an employee merely trades his or her time for money, the employee's earning potential is capped based on how many hours they have in one day. You cannot create more time. On the other hand, with network marketing and home based businesses, one has the ability to multiply their time and their profits by creating multiple streams of income or affiliate program relationships. This is in part how to create great success and wealth. Home based businesses and network marketing ventures are redefining how business is conducted across the country and the globe.

Want more proof that network marketing is here to stay and a growing home based business solution for many who are seeking more wealth and freedom? Fortune magazine describes network marketing as An industry with steady annual growth, healthy cash flows, high returns on invested capital and long term prospects for global expansion. Network marketing has grown more than 91 percent since 1997 and provides over $30 billion in income for Americans and $100 billion in income for individuals all over the globe. Each week nearly 300,000 individuals from all over the world enter into the home based, network marketing business arena. Many experts recognize the potential for improved quality of life, an opportunity to follow lifes passions and in many cases to accrue tremendous wealth.

So how does one learn how to get into home based work or network marketing? And how does one improve the likelihood of success and the creation of not only wealth, but of all of ones dreams? The answer is easy. Learn, study and practice the Secret Science to Getting Rich.

Guarantee your Success

Did you know that according to Robert Kiyosaki, the author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad that 90% of all new businesses fail within the first five years? Additionally, statistics show that 90% of that 10% that survived the first five years fail before they reach ten? So how do you guarantee yourself that you are part of that 1% of all businesses that succeed after 10 years? You can do it. Anyone can, success and becoming wealthy comes down to a science, a science with a predictable outcome. Those who succeed and become wealthy know something. They understand something. They know the Secret Science to Getting Rich. You can learn it too and guarantee that you are in the elite 1% group, http://www.inspirednhopeful.theSGRprogram.com

Secret Science to Getting Rich

Secret Science to Getting Rich Have you heard of the DVD called "the Secret"? The Secret uses transformational learning so that the audience actually internalizes the concepts and adopts that way of thinking as their way of being. The movie has a central theme called "the Law of Attraction". The law of attraction states that what we think about, we bring about, our thoughts manifest into our life experience. In fact, the movie itself was inspired by this very same law when the producer read a book called "the Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace D. Wattles. This book was written in 1910. Little did Wallace know how he would transform the thinking of the world, 100 years later! The law of attraction states that we create our reality, both good and bad! Have you created a reality of wealth?

Following on the success of the Secret, the core teachers - namely Bob Proctor and Jack Canfield have collaborated to produce a wealth building program called "the Secret Science of Getting Rich Seminar". This program is based on the book that inspired the movie and is set to make history as the fastest selling personal development program in history. The Secret Science to Getting Rich allows people to learn, with predictable results, how to create wealth, and doing so from a home based business!

What is the Science of Getting Rich about? Well in the words of Wallace D. Wattles, "The ownership of money and property comes as a result of doing things in a certain way. Those who do things in this certain way, whether on purpose or accidentally, get rich. Those who do not do things in this certain way, no matter how hard they work or how able they are, remain poor. It is a natural law, like gravity or polarity, that like causes always produce like effects. There are predictable outcomes. Therefore, any man or woman who studies and practices this science will infallibly get rich." The Science of Getting Rich is all about teaching how to do things in this "certain" way to create wealth.

Learn, study and master the Secret Science to Getting Rich, http://www.inspirednhopeful.theSGRprogram.com and you will get rich. 3 Key Internet Business StartUp Ideas Without a Website

A great deal of money has been made by online entrepreneurs who have implemented these 3 highly successful business models that can help you create income online without having to invest a single a cent in website design, hosting, optimizing or website maintenance.

1. Affiliate Marketing

This is how to set yourself up as an affiliate marketer

1. Becoming an Affiliate

Firstly you need to sign up as an affiliate with individual companies or affiliate networks that represent several companies.

These affiliate networks usually have a wide range of products and services to choose from and offer everything from e-books to networking products to sell.

They also administer your account in such a way as to provide you with up to date earning and traffic statistics.

2. Get Products and Services to Sell

Next you need to identify the products or companies whose products you would like to promote.

You can do this by either choosing the most popular, hottest selling products or the ones that you have an interest in or are knowledgeable about.

3. Selling and Marketing

Once you've got your unique affiliate link, which you'll get from the affiliate network, for each product that you want to sell you need to start getting it all over the internet.

This link can then be promoted by,

1. advertising it

One of the most effective and most popular advertising models involves you setting up a Google Adwords account

You then purchase pay-per-click keywords on which determine when, where and how often your Google Adsense ads appear all over the internet.

Your affiliate tracking code will be embedded in the Adsense link which will send buyers directly to the affiliate merchant.

You will then earn commission on each sale made.

This is the best way of getting massive targetted traffic to the merchant's site where your prospects will hopefully make a purchase.

However, whilst you may be generating traffic don't forget that each click your ad gets costs you money and if you are spending more on Adwords advertising than you are generating in commission you will be out of pocket soon.

2. having it included in someone else?s website

3. using it in an e-mail newsletter - direct marketing

2. Start Selling on eBay

eBay is the hottest e-commerce site on the web today, and for good reason...

* More than 2 million people visit eBay.com every single day, spending an

average of two hours navigating through eBay's pages and listings

* More than $1,000 in sales happen on eBay every single second

* 72% of eBay users have incomes in excess of $50,000 per year--so they come ready to spend!

And while those listings will cost you only pennies to place on eBay's pages, you gain immediate access to millions of buyers who are looking for items just like yours.

3. Start Selling on Purpose Built Websites

One of the easiest ways of setting up an online business is to buy into a ready made store front that will be populated with thousands of digital products and services all embedded with your unique affiliate tracking code

So everytime a purchase is made from your site you are credited with the commission.

So there you have it, employ one or all three methods to launch a legitimate and sustainable online business.

Whats In A Domain Name?

Branding your business on the Internet starts with your domain name. Buying the right domain name is an important part of your planning process. Even if you don't plan on using the domain name right away you should purchase it anyway before someone snatches it. You can buy a domain for under $10 so it is one of the least expensive investments you will make. To put it in numbers, there are about 70 million .com, and about 10 million .net registered domains in the world.

Don't think that all the good domain names are gone. There are more great domain names available to you than you will ever need. Even though there are about 100 million top-level domain names registered already, there are many more to choose from. Dont believe it for a minute that you wont be able to find a domain name that will work for your business. A little bit of research and creativity will go a long way in your efforts to the find the right domain name for your company.

The name registration is a simple process. There are many domain registrars you can choose from. Some of the larger registrars are godaddy.com, enom.com, and networksolutions.com. All registrars have simple a registration process; a few clicks and you are done. The interface is user friendly, and you could register your domain name in less than ten minutes.

Registering a domain doesnt mean you own it permanently. Think of it as a car lease without getting stiffed with expensive lease termination fees. You have the right to use it, but you dont own it indefinitely. You are simply registering it for your business or personal use for a certain duration. You can register your domain for one year or multiple years. It is best to register business domains for multiple years. For additional protection, select auto renew as an option. Auto renew ensures that your domain is renewed even if you forget about it. Youve probably heard horror stories about companies letting their domain names expire. If it happens to you, it could have devastating effects. In the worst case, you may be forced to go out of business. If your domain name becomes part of your brand, losing it could mean losing your business.

Once the registration expires you have to either extend your registration or let it expire, so someone else can grab it. If you are forgetful, you may want to select the auto renew option, so you dont let your domain name expire against your wishes. Dont think nobody will want you domain name, there is an entire market that is dedicated to profiting from expired domain names. Dont fall victim; take your domain name registration seriously.

All of the larger registrars are reputable companies, and you should have no difficulties registering your domain with them. A word of advice, watch out for the up sell. Most registrars make most of their money through the up sell such as providing hosting services, e-mail solutions, shopping cart software. I dont recommend hosting your Web site with the registrars. Register your domain with them, but dont fall for the up sell. Let the registrars do what they are the best at, registering domain names.

Transit Letters and Numerology; Your Name is your Fortune

Have you ever wondered why certain things happen to you, or if there is some way to know ahead of time if your finances will improve this year? Numerology provides a unique tool for forecasting the major events in your life; your Letters of Transit.

Along with your Life Cycles, and your Personal Year number, your Transit Letters predict, in a general way, the events which are slated to befall you in life. This practice, though I can't prove it by any scientific means, can be uncannily accurate when it comes to giving a thumbnail sketch of what life plans for you.

===> How to Calculate your Transit Letters

Your Transit Letters are based on your birth name; your full name as it was written on your birth certificate. This includes any misspellings and qualifiers (Jr., III, IV, etc.) that were actually recorded on the original document. Any legal changes to your name, or corrections when recording it later don't count; only the original birth name is used.

Each word or qualifier in your birth name generates an additional Transit Letter for you at any one time. Also, each name in your birth name has a particular period or cycle which is repeated thought your life as you grow older. This is best illustrated by an example.

===> Johnny Depp's Transit Letters

Lets examine actor Johnny Depp's Transit Letters to see what I'm talking about. First, Johnny Depp's birth name is 'John Christopher Depp III'. This gives him (4) transit letters in affect at any given time in his life; each name producing a letter.

Each letter in the alphabet has a duration which matches it's fadic addition position in the alphabet.

A = 1, B = 2, I = 9, J = (10) = 1, K = (11) = 2,
Y = (25) = 7, Z = (26) = 8.

When we look at a name, we record the corresponding numeric values and get the period of the name.

John = 20 Years
J (1) + O (6) + H (8) + N (5)

Christopher = 67 Years
C(3) + H(8) + R(9) + I(9) + S(1) + T(2) + O(6) + P(7)
+ H(8) + E(5) + R(9)

Depp = 23 Years
D(4) + E(5) + P(7) + P(7)

III = 27 Years
I (9) + I(9) + I (9)

He was born in June 1963, so his current age is 43.

His first name has a period of (20) which comes out of his age 2 times, leaving 3 Years. So His first name Transit Letter was 'J' from 2003 to June 2004, and will be an 'O' from June 2004 through June 2010 (six years.)

His second name has a period of (67) so we count in 43 years as follows:

CHRISTO = 3 + 8 + 9 + 9 + 1 + 2 + 6 = 38 years.

So, his transit letter of 'P' began on his 38th birthday in June 2001, and will run until June 2008 (seven years).

His third name has a period of 23 years, which comes out of 43 once, leaving 20 years. So we count in 20 years as follows:

DEP = 4 + 5 + 7 = 16 years.

So his transit letter of 'P' began on his 39th birthday (23 + 16) in June 2002, and will run for (7) years when it will be replaced by another 'P' which will run for (7) more years until June 2016.

His fourth birth name always gives us a transit letter of 'I' throughout his entire life.

So Johnny Depp's current transit letters are: O, P, P, and I. They remain in force until June 2008 when the O turns into an 'H'.

This is the process of how Transit Letters are calculated. It's complex enough that we want to leave it to computers to do the dirty work for us.

===> What Do they Tell Us?

Different letters have different affects on us, though there are some general guidelines to remember.

Short period letters, such as 'A', 'J', and 'S' call for dramatic changes in your life; they only last a year, but they bring a strong impact.

The following letters are good for business and finances: 'F', 'G', 'H', 'J', 'M', 'O', 'P', 'Q', and 'Z'.

The following letters indicate possible health problems: 'B', 'K', and 'T'.

The following letters indicate possible delays and difficulties in our plans: 'I', and 'R'.

Doubled and tripled letters can have negative side affects due to too much of something; they tend to bring out the negatives of excess in whatever they impact.

===> Summation

Your letters of Transit in many ways can be thought of as a simple Tarot card reading for the current period of your life. Three or four different signpost which have limited meaning when taken separately, but tend to be much more meaningful when considered together as a whole.

They, along with your Life Cycle and your Personal Year, form the elements of your Numerology Chart that predict your future.

Why You Must Absolutely Have A Website?

In todays culture, a website represents your business card even if you dont have a business! Your child may have a website, your neighbour may have a website and even your local place of worship has a website.

A website allows you to communicate keep in touch with as many people as possible while at the same time minimising the cost of doing so. Can you imagine the cost of consistently printing and mailing to 2000 loyal customers every month?

A website cuts down on your total cost of postage and your everyday word processing software cuts down on physically writing out every greeting or piece of correspondence.

However, a website does the one thing that youre always looking for: a website helps to free your time.

Your time is the most precious commodity that youll never be able to get back. Youll never be able to play that magnificent round of golf, go vacationing with the family or watching your child perform in their school play if youre constantly trying to free yourself of responsibilities.

A website is a lot of work to start. Thats the truth. The best way to look at your website is to view it as your own body. When you put the right fuel (food) in your system your body runs efficiently. You arent constipated, you have lots of energy and you feel great. Combine this with a little exercise and youll live a fairly long life. When you start feeding yourself bad food, you start to feel tired and irritable. You may gain weight and start outgrowing your favourite clothing.

Thats the same thing that could happen to your website if it gets neglected. Just like your body, a website starts to deteriorate. The pride that you showed at having a website disappears and your website suffers.

If you still have doubts about having a website, think of it as your on-line sales centre. Imagine having a system that can take your orders when you are asleep. Or a system that will allow you to take a holiday and monitor your sales if you like without asking a sales manager? Maybe you dont want to hire and train a new employee to take your orders and to know your sales process. A website helps you be better at what you do, not what you shouldnt.

Preventing Baby Rash

Your baby perhaps has not had a diaper rash lately. But if some tender part of your baby's skin remains wet and warm too long, you are likely to end up alongside a fussing infant brought about by the itchy, stinging, burning, small red bumps that doctors merely call "miliaria rubra."

The exact mechanism by which heat and moisture band up to trigger this baby's skin problem is still being debated by scientists. But one of the latest theories says that a breed of bacteria that lives on the skin produces a small slime when your baby's skin stays wet and hot for too long.

While this is happening, the heat is additionally swelling your baby's sweat glands, opening them up to invasion. So the exterior slime plugs up the swelled sweat glands, causing the rash. With this, experts contest that anything that irritates or clogs the sweat glands can cause the rash.

But whatever the origin of heat rash on babies, the key to enjoining this itchy annoyance in babies is to understand the right pointers regarding baby skin care. Understanding important baby skin care tips will help parents manage the sweat glands right and will teach them how to have the greatest skin care for their baby.

Below are four pore-friendly things you can do:

1. Put on your baby's coolest clothes

Heat rash is often caused by tight clothing. When it is hot and humid, it would be best for parents to let their babies wear loose-fitting clothing that breathes and that has light weave. Cotton is a prime candidate. The difficulty with most parents is that they tend to wrap their babies with tight-fitting clothes plus blankets, peculiarly for the newborns, thinking that it will give their baby the identical comfortable surroundings he had grown used to while inside the mother's womb.

This is one of the many misconceptions regarding baby skin care. What most parents do not know is that most of the babies rashes are caused by extreme heat brought about by tight-fitting clothes or wrong materials.

Therefore, if your baby is prone to rashes, try to refrain from letting him put on silk or other rash-generating material. Usually give him cotton-made outfits so as to elude development of rash.

2. Replace baby's diaper as often as possible

Other causes of rashes can be attributed to the way parents use diapers. Many parents forget to monitor their baby's diapers. Hence, they seldom forget to check on their baby's wet and soiled diapers. In the end, the wet diaper stays on the baby's skin for too long, and considering it is usually attached to the skin, heat is also established.

The combination of warmth and moisture is extremely dangerous for your baby's skin, as this will trigger the development of bacteria. In turn, your baby will develop some diaper rash.

So, in order to avoid such dilemma, it would be better to change your baby's diaper as often as possible.

On the other hand, it would also be better if you will let your baby's skin breathe from time to time. This means that you should let your baby be free from diaper use for a predetermined period of time. For instance, if it is daytime and your baby is simply playing most of the time, try to let him wear something cooler. Try to free him from diapers at this time. Keep in mind that the more your baby's skin can breathe, the lower probability that your baby will develop a rash.

3. Use mild soap that is especially made for babies

Babies are known to have the most sensitive skin. Hence, most dermatologists and pediatricians do not recommend using antibacterial soap for your baby. In fact, they do not recommend any soap aside from baby's soap containing super mild ingredients. Soaps not made for babies may bear harsh chemical that could cause dryness on the skin. This can also trigger the development of rashes.

Furthermore, even if you were using the mildest soap for your baby's skin, it would still be better to cleanse well before taking him out of the bathtub. Any soap residue on your baby's skin can plug sweat glands and, consequently, cause rashes.

Given all that, caring for your baby's skin may not be that hard. All you need to do is to bear in mind the important pointers that you need to know so that you understand what to avoid and what to have for your baby's delicate skin.

6 Steps To Making e85 Ethanol At Home

6 Steps To Making e85 Ethanol

Step One: . . . The Conversion Process

We have to break down carbohydrate sugars, such as the starch from corn. Create it into "Mash". Grind or crush the feedstock (corn, soybeans, wheat, etc...). Then dilute and add an enzyme (alpha amylase) to turn the mixture into a liquid. Once liquified a second enzyme is added(glucoamylase) to convert the starch into sugar. (If the source is mainly sugar, i.e...rotten fruit, molasses, etc..., the conversion step can be skipped.

Step Two: . . . Fermentation

Add yeast and make it into a beer (wine) type solution.

Step Three: . . . Distillation

The beer (wine) type solution needs to be run through a still to extract the alcohol from the solution.

Step Four: . . . Filtration

The ethanol now needs to be filtered to get rid of excess organic volatiles.

Step Five: . . . Dehydration

The ethanol needs to be "dried". After the distillation process there will be a certain amount of water in the ethanol you have just created - this can be dried running the ethanol through Zeolite a readily available product for drying ethanol.

Step Six: . . . Ethanol Into e85

Now simply convert the pure ethanol into e85 by adding 15% unleaded gasoline to your ethanol. e85 is nothing more than 85% ethanol mixed with 15% gasoline.

How Search Engines Work

How Search Engines Work

Many Search Engine Optimisers believe there may be upwards of 1,000 factors that determine a pages rank within the SEs listings. However, its possible to breakdown these factors into just four groups.

Keyword Prominence
Keyword Density
Spam
Links from other sites

All four factors have evolved over time and are concerned with creating more relevant results for the user. Also all four factors are or can be determined by keywords

Keyword Prominence

Search Engines study where and when a keyword appears on a web page, such as in a sub heading, link or paragraph. A search engine also evaluates where in each of these whether they are the first in a sub-heading, the second word in a link or at the end of a paragraph. Search engines decided on what level of prominence would be the most relevant to a surfer and weights its formula accordingly

Keyword Density

Search Engines study the frequency of a keyword within a page and also the frequency within particular areas such as sub-heading, links or a single paragraph. Again Search Engines decide on the level of frequency that it believe would create the most relevant results for the user and then amends its ranking formula

Spam

In relation to keywords, Search Engines have decided that if the two above factors are abused then the web page must be spam and penalise it accordingly. This is usually called keyword stuffing as the page is filled with keywords with many irrelevant or inappropriate

Links from other sites

Search Engines also rank web pages by the pages that link to them, it important that for a web to obtain a high ranking it must get links from other pages with high prominence and density for that keyword.

Internet Marketing Do's And Don'ts: The Apprentice Marketer

Introduction

So you want to be an internet marketer?

Then read this public health and safety announcement of dos and donts.

General Advice

DO: Believe the hype.

There are 1000s who make a very comfortable living from internet marketing, its not all scams and fraudsters.

DONT: Expect it to be easy.

Making money online is just like any other business; if you are going to progress then expect to work long and hard.

DO: Join a forum.

The first port of call for any novice marketer should be joining a forum; there are tonnes of excellent ones brimming with experts willing to give you free advice.

DONT: Believe everything you read.

Not everyone is an expert although theyll have you believe otherwise with apparently vast quantities of knowledge. Proceed with caution!

DO: Your research.

Nothing but nothing equates to your own hands on experience, take time to try things out for yourself and learn from your successes and failures.

DONT: Be easily parted from your cash.

Common sense is not that common anymore; if its too good to be true then it normally is. Use your forum to find out if anyone else has tried before you buy.

Linking & SEO

DO: Link exchange.

If youve got the resources on your website then share and share a like. You can build strong business relationships with those you swap links with. Be sure you choose linking partners sensibly.

DONT: Automate link exchange.

The links are crap and irrelevant; you know it, I know it and the search engines know it!

DO: Aim high!

A number 1 in Google is the holy grail of the website owner, research your keywords in-depth and remember it takes time.

DONT: Spend a tonne on advertising.

Unless you really know what you are doing you could be pouring money down the drain. Invest a little here and there and find out what works best. Someone may make a killing with Adwords that doesnt mean YOU will.

Making Money

DO: Get an Adsense account.

Although It may take a while before you start making decent money --> Sit at home in front of your computer / working in the coal mines; hmmm Its NOT DEAD!

DONT: Make promises you cant keep.

If youre selling something online then an unhappy customer will tell more people than a happy one. Make sure the customer knows EXACTLY what they are getting and dont make outrageous claims unless they are 100% TRUE!

DO: Join eBay

Its still the quickest and easiest way to get money into your Paypal account. It can be used as an effective marketing tool as well!

DONT: Multi-Level Market

Unless you know exactly what it is and how to work it; many pyramid schemes front as not so illegal MLM schemes. As the two trades are fairly similar anyway, its always the top man the makes the money.

Traffic and list building

DO: Start list building immediately.

Give away a free eBook or start a newsletter; again this takes time but wouldnt you like to have the e-mail addresses of a thousand or so potential customers?

DONT: Buy a list.

Its moronic!

DO: Research targeted traffic.

Spend time finding out how to get good targeted traffic to your website, remember its quality and not quantity. And so were clear; quality traffic is traffic with the intention to buy.

DONT: Buy traffic.

This is also moronic. I have yet to hear anyone say otherwise, bar those that sell traffic coincidental!

Final Thought

DO: Make lemon cider.

When life gives you lemons; theres a far greater profit margin.

DONT: Be afraid to be different.

Drinking your lemon cider may give your some insightful views on innovating tried and true techniques. Its your duty to STAND OUT!

T's & C's

DO: post this on your website or blog, e-mail it to a list or add it to an e-book. Use it to list build, save it to your desktop and get it tattooed to your eyelids.

DONT: Modify the content in anyway. Feel free to give it away to as many people as you like but be sure to keep the whole article including the terms, links and authors bio intact.

Top Tips On How To Make Easy Money Online

Who wouldnt want to make money online? You choose your hours, you can work from any location in the world and you can leverage your time in a way that makes having a job seem like the biggest waste of time imaginable!

However, its only easy to make money online if you do your homework first. The best way to make easy money online is surely to follow what other successful internet entrepreneurs do, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel. You could waste a ton of money and a lot of time trying to make money with, for instance, Google Adwords, or on eBay or with affiliate marketing and so on, if you simply log onto the website, create an account and start trading. There are proven techniques, tricks of the trade and short cuts to enable you to make money online quickly and successfully. There are also a lot of mistakes to be made and a lot of money to be wasted if you dont know what you are doing.

Tip One is to study first, make money second.

So many people want everything for free and feel that if they have to buy information, they are somehow being ripped off. I bought a stack of information when I started out, and dont feel that any of my money was wasted yes, some information helped me more than others, but it was all a learning curve, and saved me wasting a fortune making mistakes. I learnt from the mistakes others had made instead. Think of it this way if, in one year from now you are earning enough to walk away from the day job, would it be worth going back to school and studying your new career path before you get started?

Tip Two is to have a variety of online businesses some you will take to more than others, some will pay out sooner than others, but at the end of the day why put all your hopes on one business stream when you can have several?

Tip Three. Be patient. Give yourself a year or 18 months to really give your online career a chance. If you dont see results as soon as you want them, dont give up only to try something else that you may not stick at either. It takes time, for instance, for new websites to get ranked in the search engines, and although you can learn how to create a website that will rank well, you cannot cheat the system. What you can do, is learn search engine optimisation techniques and put them all into practice, which will reap you big rewards further down the line. (Theres a free e-book on my website about this).

Making money online can give you total financial freedom you have to want it enough to work hard initially, so that you can then sit back and enjoy it. Follow the leaders, dont imagine you dont need anyones help, be a sponge and learn all you can and kiss the day job goodbye.
